THE INDUSTRIAL POLICY OF MIZORAM STATE 1989

DEFINITIONS AND CRITERIA FOR ELIGIBILITY

  1. Effective Date:

    The Industrial Policy of the Mizoram State 1989 will come into force with effect from the 1st April 1989. From this date the new package of incentive (hereinafter referred to as Incentive Scheme of 1989) shall come into force and shall remain in operation till such time the State Government after giving due notice discontinue its operation or make amendments but the commitments already made shall not be adversely effected by any such discontinuation or amendments.

  2. Eligibility

    1. All new industrial units in the private, assisted, joint, State Public and co-op sectors set up on or after 1.4.'89 will be eligible for the Incentive Scheme of 1989.

    2. Central Public Sector Undertakings will not be considered eligible for the incentives under the Scheme.

    3. The existing industrial units undertaking expansion, modernisation or diversification or after 1.4.89 shall be eligible for the incentive for the expanded portion only.

    4. To be eligible for these incentives the industrial units should be located and have their registered offices in the State of Mizoram.

    5. Those existing industrial units which have already availed incentives similar in nature to the 1989 incentives shall not be eligible for Incentives of 1989.

  3. New Units:

    An industrial unit which has undertaken one or more effective steps on or after 1.4.'89 would be considered as a `new Unit' for the purpose of the Incentive Scheme of 1989.

  4. Existing Unit:

    Any industrial unit which is/was in commercial production at any time prior to 1.4.89 would be considered as an existing unit for the purpose of the Incentive Scheme of 1989.

  5. Effective Steps

    Effective Steps mean one or more of the following steps:-

    1. 60 p.c. or more of the capital issued for the industrial unit has been paid up.

    2. Substantial part of the factory building has been constructed.

    3. A firm order has been placed for substantial part of the plant and machinery required for the industrial unit.
