Subject:- Constitution of Coordination Committee for Industrialisation of
North-Eastern States and Sikkim.

It has been decided to constitute a Coordination Committee on Industrialisation for formulation/implementation of schemes relating to small and village industries in the north eastern States of Assam. Arunachal Pradesh, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland and Tripura and Sikkim. The composition of the Committee will be as follows:

2. The following are the terms of reference of this Committee:

  1. to identify specific activities/project/programmes relating to small scale and village industries for implementation in these States.

  2. To review the implementation of the programmes/schemes of the Ministry of SSI&ARI in the north-eastern States and Sikkim.

  3. To suggest strategies and measures for promotion and development of small and village industries in these States.

  4. To identify/suggest industrial projects/programmes which can be funded from non-lapsable pool meant for the North East.

  5. Any other matter which the Committee would deem appropriate.

3. This Committee will meet at least once every year. However, the concerned officers of all the State Governments shall meet at least every quarter under the Chairmanship of the Secretary (SSI&ARI).
